Choosing Your First Barber Shears

Start with one 6.0″ offset cutter in your cutting hand, from your course tool list if you have one. When it arrives, check model, hand and length against the order and keep the instructions before first use. A pair used on hair can't be returned for change of mind.

City Buying Guides

Our city guides are now one page: Barber Scissors in Australia. It covers what to buy first, the lengths barbers use, delivery Australia-wide, scissor care by climate from Darwin to Hobart, TAFE training kits and servicing.

How We Write Our Guides

Our guides are written from catalogue records and makers' published specifications, not hands-on testing. Banners labelled "Illustration" are AI-generated or drawn; product photos are catalogue photos. Alex Morgan is our editorial team's pen name. We don't publish customer reviews.

Orders, Shipping & Returns

We deliver to Australian addresses: standard A$6, free over A$89, express A$9.95. Checkout shows handling of 1 to 2 business days and arrival in 2 to 4 days. Your receipt link is in the confirmation email and tracking comes with the dispatch email. Change of mind: contact us within 14 days of delivery.

Shear Care

Wipe the blades and pivot dry after every client, put one drop of oil on the pivot at close and store the scissors closed in a dry case. In humid, coastal or tropical shops, don't skip a day. If a pair pushes or folds hair, check the tension, clean and oil the pivot, then book a sharpen.

Warranty & Servicing

If a shear arrives damaged, faulty or different from the listing, contact us with your order number and a photo or short video, and wait for our instructions before sending it back. Faults are covered by the Australian Consumer Law. A blunt edge from normal use needs a sharpener, not a warranty claim.
